Per Kamperin loves traveling and exploring new places and cultures. Over the years, he has had the opportunity to visit many unique areas of the world. One of his favorite places to visit is Singapore.
Located in Southeast Asia, Singapore started as a British colony in the 1800s and grew to be one of the world’s most wealthy countries. While it may be small, this country is packed with modern amenities, skyscrapers and plenty to do. Its mix of Chinese, Indian and Malaysian residents makes it a hub for interesting culture. When visiting Singapore, here are some of the top things to check out:
Check Out The Art Scene
There is an entire arts district to wander when visiting Singapore. Try exploring the area Dhoby Ghaut and City Hall for art institutions, galleries and museums. Some popular places to visit are the ArtScience Museum, The National Art Gallery, the National Museum of Singapore, the Singapore Art Museum, the Substation and the Art Plural Gallery.
Do a Bit of Gambling
Gambling is legal and much loved around this city. Try your luck at the Marina Bay Sands casino or the Resorts World Sentosa. You can try betting on the horses at Singapore Turf Club or with Singapore Pools on one of their lotteries.
Relax at The Spa
Spending some time at the spa is a favorite pastime for locals and tourists visiting the city. There are spas offering traditional Chinese treatments, green tea hydrotherapy and nail care. Most high end resorts will feature a spa but you can also opt for popular places like The Nail Social, Manicurious or Spa Botanica. A walk down Orchard road or the Kampong Glam walking belt will lead to plenty of spa options.
Try Some Sports
It may be a city full of shopping and high end restaurants but Singapore also has plenty of options to get involved in sports. Try out some of the water sports like wakeboarding, waterskiing, canoeing and windsurfing or venture to the snow center to learn how to ski and snowboard.
